The Museum of Military Zone Thu Do – Museum of Hanoi Armed Forces, was set up on the 6th of November, 1986. Its exhibition shows the process of building, fighting and growing of Military Zone Thu Do’s Armed Forces in the cause of national liberation, construction and defence of the Fatherland under the slogan: “Prepared to die for the country’s survival”. The museum especially illustrates the victory of Hanoi people and armed forces over the strategic B-52 air raid in late December 1972
This is the main part of the museum’s exhibition, featuring various photographs, documents, original objects, that fully reflects the battles of Hanoi people and armed forces together with the North people to defeat the two US aerial and naval wars of destruction, whose peak was the “Dien Bien Phu in the Air” battle against the B52 strategic air raid over Hanoi.
