Cam or Forbidden Mountain
The mountain is 710 metres above sea level and is the highest mountain of the Seven Mountains Range in southwest Vietnam. It is surrounded by Vo Dau, Vo Bo Hong and Vo Thien Tue mountains.
The climate is fresh all year round with an average temperature between 18° C and 24° C. The natural scenery is unique and there are many flowers and fruits, birds and beasts, mountains and forests, waterfalls, attractive and magnificent caves. There are some legends about the name of the mountain. One tells that the mountain was too rugged, full of beasts and inaccessible to everyone except the gods of the mountains, therefore the name “forbidden”. The other tells that when Nguyen Anh was hunted by the Tay Son troops he took refuge in the mountain and forbade anyone to access, so the mountain got its name. Locals know the landmark as Thien Cam Son (Heavens’ Forbidden Mountain) or Bach Ho Son (White Tiger Mountain) and Khmers also know it as Phnom Popeal Sama (Beautiful Mountain). It is accessible by car and foot. If you go trekking, you will pass Thuy Liem Cave, O Cat (Sand Gate), Phat Lon (Big Buddha) Pagoda, Phat Nho (Little Buddha) Pagoda, a Buddha Statue and Van Linh Pagoda. The Thanh Long (Blue Dragon) stream follows the trail from the park up the mountain. You can have a bath at the spring of the spring. Lam Vien Tourist Park with a surface of 100 ha is located on the foot of the mountain and offers a wide range of recreational services including a restaurant that has specialties of the Seven Mountains Region on the menu.
