Pirate Island Adventures
Opened in October 2012, Pirate Adventure House is a very well done Disney-like attraction located diagonally opposite Le Grand Bleu restaurant near Phi Phi's main pier in Tonsai Village.
This two-storey building offers three attractions: downstairs, you will find an electronic shooting range with 'old' pistols and muskets, and an XD theatre with 4D rides (the seats move, too). Upstairs, prepare to be scared as the second floor is a haunted house with all the classics of horror: skeletons grabbing your shoulder, spider webs, dark atmosphere and creaky floorboards... Boo!
Pirate Island Adventures is a state-of-the-art attraction: construction, décor, details - everything has been done with one idea in mind: to make it the most realistic and scary place as possible. At the entrance you're welcomed by a talking skeleton which invites you to come in. First thing you see from the threshold is another tall skeleton leaning from left to right at the ship's wheel.
The shooting range looks like Ali Baba's cave (pirate-style) with lots of shiny, exotic and vintage items, the same as those you'd find in a galleon's hold. Two muskets and a colt (when the Western meets piracy...) are on display ready for you to show your shooting skills. At the back of the first floor, the XD theatre offers the choice between four rides: the Canyon Coaster, Haunted Mine, Cosmic Coaster and Ravine racer. Hang on tight to your seat! The haunted house is reached by a flight of wooden stairs, and will scare and amuse you with old tricks and special effects.
