The Angkor Silk farm offers privately guided tours of the process from the mulberry bushes cultivation to the production of silk fabrics and accessories.

As the Silk Farm covers an area of 8 hectares, of which 5 are used for the mulberry trees plantation, you will enjoy the beautiful setting while learning about the fascinating process of silk-making. During your visit, our guides will give you more details on the mulberry trees, silkworm farming, cocoon unwinding, preparation of the silk threads, ikat technique (tie-dyeing of the threads) and silk weaving. We are sure that you will be impressed by the dexterity of our artisans with silk threads.

  • Day 1: Silk Farm Tour

    Head out of Siem Reap and travel about 30 minutes to Pouk District the home of silk farming.  The silk farm covers about 8 acres most of which are used to grow the mulberry trees which provide the food and habitat for silk worms.  Take a guided tour of the farm and learn about the production process of silk.  Watch as the cocoons are dissolved in boiling water so that the long silk fibres can be extracted and spun into thread.  Next, follow the raw thread as it hand-loomed into fabric and dyed brilliant shades of colour.  There is an onsite gallery where you are able to purchase fabric, accessories and handicrafts straight from the workshops.
